About two weeks ago I did a video where I discussed
the 1098-T, a tax form that may assist you in getting a few tax credits if you
are a student. That video is over 600 views thanx to you all! So keep watching,
sharing, and commenting. But that got me to thinking if there were so many
questions regarding the 1098-T I wonder if everyone knows about The CARES Act.
The CARES Act is an acronym for the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic
Security Act that provides emergency grants to students who were affected by
the pandemic.
If you are a student who has completed the FAFSA and
has a financial need then you qualify. Unfortunately, students who are international,
un-documented, and in an online program before 3/13/2020 do not qualify. Imagine
my own disappointment when I found out that last part! Oh well maybe next time!
You can apply for this grant directly through your school and if you are
approved you will receive the funds the way you typically receive your school
refunds. Keep in mind that just because you apply does not mean you will be
approved. If you are denied you can always appeal.
Now I can’t say how much you will receive but I knew
someone who got $300. Check out the video below for more information!
